The Men’s Team: A Summer Full of Trophy Opportunities
This summer will be no easy task for Club America who sets their sights on crossing the border and calling California their home. Las Aguilas have an array of matches on the horizon for this summer. Just recently, a press release put out stated Club America would have hub privileges through the Semifinals in the state of California for Leagues Cup. This means that America in theory could play up to four games in California.
Add on top of that the Campeon de Campeones match that pits the winners of the Apertura and Clausura against each other, played in Carson, California at Dignity Health Sports Park. Seeing as how America are the current Apertura champions, they have secured their ticket the final already. So there is plenty of games being played in California for Club America that could potentially kick start their season with silverware.

The Women’s Team: Breaking Barriers
In an exciting announcement recently NWSL and Liga MX Femenil unveiled a new joint tournament called Summers Cup. The tournament will feature all NWSL teams and six Liga MX teams with the most points achieved during 2023. This means America Femenil qualifies to be partake in this new and exciting competition.
As luck would have it America placed in group B of the competition alongside Angel City FC, San Diego Wave FC, and Bay FC. Meaning the Lady Aguilas will mirror the men and have a summer in California. It wouldn’t be the first time the team has played games in the United States, but it would be the first time they are centralized in California for a tournament.

California Dream for Fans
It’s no rare commodity for Club America to play in California throughout the calendar year. Fans are treated to at least one game per season in Club America’s Tour Aguila. Which sees the team travel to different cities throughout the season during the international break. California has been a regular hub for America especially Southern California.
What is not common is for fans to have a full month of Club America games in their back yard here in the states. That is why it’s such big news that America will be centralized in California for both the men and the women. Fans love the opportunity to witness seeing their favorite team play even in a simple friendly. Yet, now they have a chance to witness their team compete in matches that hold true weight. Something unheard for not just America but Liga MX as a whole here in the states.
