Here we go
If you were wondering when the transfer portal was going to open and up, and which Notre Dame Football players will eventually be leaving… today is the day. College football isn’t the college football I grew up with, and the spring season is much more volatile than ever before as players have a better sense of where they are on the depth chart (among other things).
The Irish are going to lose a fair handful to the portal this spring. It was minimal during their postseason playoff run — because who wants to leave that? So, while other team’s rosters were already being trimmed, Notre Dame has a few more changes that will naturally take place.
The first big one is safety Kennedy Urlacher.
BREAKING: Notre Dame Safety Kennedy Urlacher is entering the Transfer Portal, he tells @on3sports
The 5’11 200 S will have 3 years of eligibility remaining

Last season, Urlacher played in 14 games — and looked good for most of his time out there as a ball hawk and as a hitter. Kennedy tallied 12 tackles 1 TFL, 1 PBU, and 1 fumble recovery.
Urlacher is from Arizona, so programs like the Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils could be in play — but he could very easily stick around the Midwest with programs like the Michigan State Spartans, Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana Hoosiers, and other various places.
Urlacher has 3 years of eligibility remaining.
ALSO HITTING THE PORTAL
There was another addition to the transfer portal on Wednesday as long snapper Rino Monteforte announce he will be heading elsewhere as a grad transfer.
