The next one
The Notre Dame football roster is full of great players — known and unknown. No matter the place on the depth chart or the recruiting ranking a player had attached to him before his arrival at Notre Dame — there are probably some things I really like about him. So over the course of the next few months, let’s take a positive approach to running down the roster.
Almost daily (just being honest) I’ll list three things I like about a single player on the roster, and as an additional bonus, I’ll post some extra pics over on the OFD Instagram account (be sure to follow RIGHT HERE).
Next up…
#2 Leonard Moore — Cornerback
The 6’2” 190 pound sophomore from Round Rock High School in Texas, was one of those Lone Star State prospects that didn’t get an offer from either the Texas Longhorns or the Texas A&M Aggies… so thanks for that.
Here are three things I like about Leonard Moore:
1. He is an EARNED 5-STAR.
Leonard Moore, like Julian Love before him, is the very definition of what an EARNED 5-STAR player is. Most services had Moore rated as a 3-Star player coming out of high school, and all he did this year was start 10 games for a team that made it to the National Championship game while earning Freshman All-American Honors and was named the Freshman Defensive Player of the Year. If he was rated as a 5-Star — the hype going into next season would be on an insane level.
2. Providing safety.
Even though Moore is a cornerback, he gave safety and comfort to Irish fans everywhere. When Benjamin Morrison went down for the season, the Irish could have had a really big problem out on the edge. Instead, we got fantastic coverage and some incredible plays for one of the best defenses in the country out of a freshman. So cozy.
Hot take: Leonard Moore will be better than Bmo and drafted higher https://t.co/BOjUIOOJYF

3. The best is yet to come.
You don’t have to be Kimberly Guilfoyle to scream out that line. With Mike Mickens guiding Moore, we will only see a better version of Leonard Moore next season as he looks to become one of Notre Dame’s consensus/unanimous All-American’s. There’s so much potential here with Moore due to his size and speed — like, have you seen this kid run? He is going to be a big problem for the rest of college football.
