Notre Dame’s dismantling of the Purdue Boilermakers didn’t come without a price. Multiple injuries happened inside Ross-Ade Stadium that will affect the rest of the season.
Defensive end Jordan Botelho is out for the season as well as center Ashton Craig. Guard Billy Schrauth also went down in West Lafayette and will be out for a few weeks. This brings the total of scholarship players that are out for the season to eight.
Defensive end Joshua Burham and tackle Tosh Baker are listed as questionable this week for Miami — and both are listed in the depth charts.
OFFENSE
Pat Coogan will take over at center and Rocco Spindler is now the starting right guard. Spindler in particular, looked very good against Purdue and that’s great news for Notre Dame. Other than that — the offense is healthy everywhere else. Jordan Faison is back this week and will be good to go.
DEFENSE
With Jordan Botelho gone, Boubacar Traore steps into the starting job. The sophomore looked good against the Boilermakers and made a name for himself with an interception return for a touchdown. Other edge players will have to step up — especially if Burnham isn’t full go. Freshman Loghan Thomas is on the depth chart this week, and we all want to see more from Bryce Young.
