2024-25 comes to a close
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s golf team wrapped its spring season with its outing in the ACC tournament last week. It was a rough go for the Irish, who finished last in the conference standings at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC. Notes and highlights below:
- Freshman Bridget Wilkie, the clubhouse leader for Notre Dame all season, was again the leader for the Irish with a +9 finish, good for 40th overall. Wilkie finishes the season leading the Irish roster at #334 overall in the nation.
- The Irish grouped around the 60 mark, with Montgomery Ferreira and Faustine Errecade finishing tied for 60th at +18, and Alex Lapple close behind at 62nd (+19).
- Notre Dame’s second round gave them something to build on as a team, with a +10 team finish that was one of their best for the entire season. Wilkie led this excellent round with a -1 finish that had her briefly in the tournament’s top 20.

First place in Greensboro went to the Stanford Cardinal, who utterly destroyed the competition at -27 (the next-closest finish was the Florida State Seminoles at -12). The Cardinal enter the NCAA tournament as the #1 overall team in the country and a favorite to win it all.
The Irish were one of only three ACC teams to not be selected for competition in the NCAA tournament, and unfortunately do not have any individual qualifiers for the tournament as well. Hopeful Domers can now turn their eyes to the men’s team and their upcoming shot in the ACC tournament this week, with a shot at national tournament inclusion likely on the line.
