I guess not TOO much to be mad about, but the takes always fly during every game
WE CAN BE DEMONSTRATIVE
So, I guess we can see the Notre Dame Fighting Irish can truly score some points. Wow – out of all of the outcomes to occur Saturday, I don’t think many of us saw a 66-7 whomping of the Purdue Boilermakers. I mean the game was never close. A true cleansing from the NIU debacle.
Even with a win that was not in doubt by midway through the second quarter, there are still overreactions that occur online all the time. Here are some of my favorites.
ND @ Purdue: Overreactions
I’ve seen enough.
Kenny Minchey > Steve Angeli
Could be > Riley Leonard, as well.

Because of the rout going on, we actually got to see all four QBs play. There are still many people that take issue with Riley Leonard’s play, considering he is still struggling with passes that are 15+ yards down the field. He can run well, and that’s what helped him a ton on Saturday. Steve Angeli got the first passing TD of the season for the team. We saw Minchey and Carr in garbage time, too. I think this take comes from some pent up confusion we see at the QB position. I agree that Angeli is not as mobile, but to have him be worse than Minchey when it was garbage time against a terrible opponent? I can’t make that claim because it’s not enough of a sample size. Plus, I go back to the overall success we saw Angeli have at the end of last season when he came into games too.
While it’s tempting to say “where was this team last week?” I’ll go with: HUGE props to the players for putting it behind them and bouncing back.

I love the sentiment here, and I actually agree with this to an extent. I’m going to give the team flowers because DISMANTLING the next opponent, and have it being Purdue in West Lafayette, was very gratifying. It shows they didn’t want to lay down after the debacle against NIU. BUT…at the same time I don’t want the team really to lose sight of the NIU game either and not put it totally behind them. They have to use it as fuel and remember there is about zero room for error.

This is an overreaction purely by the response this got on Saturday. I mean, thank you to the Notre Dame Twitterati (Xerati?). I didn’t expect this, but maybe this is funnier than even I thought. I do think this edit is objectively hilarious, but this engagement on an out-of-context meme meant for 3 years ago with Swarbrick now retired from the AD position? Diabolical, hilarious, and awesome overreaction. I love this fanbase and our sick, ridiculous sense of humor.
