These aren’t real projections — they’re reflections
The second set of College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night in an abbreviated show — which was much appreciated. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish moved up two spots thanks to a loss from Georgia to Ole Miss and a loss from Miami to Georgia Tech.
Oregon Ducks 10-0
Ohio State Buckeyes 8-1
Texas Longhorns 8-1
Penn State Nittany Lions 8-1
Indiana Hoosiers 10-0
BYU Cougars 9-0
Tennessee Volunteers 8-1
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 8-1
Miami Hurricanes 9-1
Alabama Crimson Tide 7-2
Mississippi Rebels 8-2
Georgia Bulldogs 7-2
Boise State Broncos 8-1
SMU Mustangs 8-1
Texas A&M Aggies 7-2
Kansas State Wildcats 7-2
Colorado Buffaloes 7-2
Washington State Cougars 8-1
Louisville Cardinals 6-3
Clemson Tigers 7-2
South Carolina Gamecocks 6-3
LSU Tigers 6-3
Missouri Tigers 7-2
Army Black Knights 9-0
Tulane Green Wave 8-2
I think each week we are going to stack the projected brackets just so we have a framework in front of us. These can barely be called projections anyways. They’re really just reflections of the rankings as there is no real projecting of the final bracket (which is all that matters).
Notre Dame moves to the 9 seed (one seed up) to be slotted with Tennessee. With three regular season weeks left, there is a ton of football to be played, and the Irish are still very much in play to get a 1st round home game… but it’s going to be interesting.
