Could be a close one
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish has advanced in the college football playoff to the seminfinals in the Orange Bowl after taking down the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl. Notre Dame’s opponent will be the Penn State Nittany Lions, who got there thanks to a Fiesta Bowl win over the Boise State Broncos.
Notre Dame took out the SEC champs, and Penn State took out the Mountain West champs… these are not the same thing.
While the Irish went into the Sugar Bowl as the favorite, they spent the better part of two weeks as the underdog. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, in the upcoming game between Notre Dame and Penn State, the Irish are currently a 1.5 point favorite with an over/under of 46.5. The moneyline for the Irish is at -126 wheras Penn State’s moneyline is +105.
Of the four teams left in the college football playoff, the Irish have the second best chance to win the national championship:
