Irish will try to stay on track in Atlanta
#12 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-1) VS Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (5-2)
The Irish head south this week to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Notre Dame is coming off of a 49-7 beat down of the Stanford Cardinal, and there are now signs of life with Riley Leonard’s arm and the Irish passing game.
Despite all of the hand-wringing going on within the Notre Dame fanbase when it comes to the Irish passing game, the Irish rank #16 in the country in rushing yards per game and #8 in the country in scoring defense. Running the ball and keeping points off of the board — it’s not the sexiest thing in 2024, but despite an absolute clunker against NIU, it gets the job done pretty well.
Notre Dame can always lean on the Pat Coogan passing game if they need to.
Genius scheme by Mike Denbrock to get Pat Coogan open on RPO action from the conventional center position. Stanford doesn’t see it coming, perfect execution.

Notre Dame is currently a double digit favorite over Georgia Tech in their own (annexed) back yard. As we get closer to the first release of the CFB Playoff Rankings, it’s games like this that the Irish not only need to win — but do so convincingly. It really is do or die for ND right now, so my advice is DO.
