Another one leaves the 2025 class
On Thursday, 3-Star running back Daniel Anderson announced his decommitment from the 2025 Notre Dame Football recruiting class.

Anderson was one of the first commitments in Notre Dame’s recruiting, and he was part of an early influx of talent from southern states that don’t normally find themselves playing for the Irish.
Just as they came — they’re gone now.
It’s mostly being reported across multiple Notre Dame sites that this was a mutual decision between Anderson and the Irish. To be perfectly honest — it checks out across the board. Anderson is a good football player and appears to be a really awesome kid. There are, however, better options out there for Notre Dame AND for Anderson. This is the best way to go about the dirty business of roster building without getting dirty.
Notre Dame’s recruiting class is now down to 21 players. As we approach the early signing period in December, we should probably expect a handful of new names that Notre Dame will start to really go after — whether they are committed elsewhere or not.
The Irish are still in pretty good shape at running back. I do expect them, however, to still try and sign one for for the 2025 class.
These are unfortunate dealings, but a mutual parting of ways does show a lot of respect between the two parties.
Good luck to Daniel wherever he may land.
