Unsurprisingly, the Northwestern Wildcats have fumbled a pair of key commitments in the aftermath of the Pat Fitzgerald scandal.
On Tuesday, three-star offensive linemen Peyton Stewart and Julius Tate announced that they’d be decommitting from the school and seeking other opportunities elsewhere.
“First I Would Like To Say Thank You To The Entire Staff At The University Of Northwestern,” Tate tweeted. “Thank You For Giving Me The Opportunity and Believing Me. With That Being Said I Will Re-assess My Collegiate Decision and Hurts To Say I Will Be Decommitting From Northwestern University.”

“First off thank you to Northwestern staff for believing in me,” Stewart shared to social media. “After talking with my parents and coaches about the news that has broke I have reconsidered my decision and decided to de commit from Northwestern. My recruitment is now back open.”

Both linemen committed to NU back in May. They were two of the program’s top-three recruits in the 2024 cycle.
