After his dismissal as head coach of Northwestern earlier this summer, Pat Fitzgerald has landed a new job.
According to The Record North Shore, Fitzgerald will serve as a “parent volunteer” at the Loyola Academy football program. Loyola Academy is a suburban high school that his two younger sons attend.
Fitzgerald reportedly went through training and a background check before joining.
Fans weren’t convinced that Loyola Academy really gave Fitzgerald a proper background check given the very public nature of the allegations that led to his firing:

Pat Fitzgerald was fired from Northwestern following a massive hazing scandal that has resulted in tons of lawsuits against the school.
Fitzgerald is the most successful head coach in Northwestern’s history and a pillar of the football program. The school initially planned to suspend him for a week during the summer, but changed their mind after the allegations became public.
As for the Loyola Academy job, it may wind up being a placeholder while he waits for another college football program to give him a chance.
He will most likely be the top candidate for the next coaching carousel this winter.
