ZZ Clark, a three-star in the class of 2024, has decomitted from Illinois. Clark is the younger brother of ’22 top-35 recruit Skyy Clark, who committed to Illinois back in April after decommitting from Kentucky.
“He’s just gonna enjoy the recruiting process and do what’s best for him,” Clark’s father Kenny told ZAGSBLOG.
ZZ had committed to Illinois on April 18th, just 11 days after Skyy did. He holds offers from Arizona State, Kansas, Creighton, DePaul, and Washington, among others.
The 6-foot-2 guard also signed a scholarship deal with the Overtime Elite League in July, allowing him to retain college eligibility and compete against some of the best high school players in the country.
“As much as I love the University of Illinois and their fanbase, I would like to reopen my recruitment to make sure I find the best fit for me personally,” Clark told On3 Sports.
“I appreciate all the love I have gotten from the Fighting Illini family and the support for my brother/family who is doing phenomenal there, but it’s time for me to blaze my own trail.”
