Illinois point guard Andre Curbelo will transfer

Illinois sophomore point guard Andre Curbelo will transfer, he announced on Twitter.

The 6-foot-1 Curbelo averaged 7.5 points and 3.2 assists this season after sustaining a concussion in October.

Curbelo initially committed to Illinois in November 2019 out of Long Island Lutheran. He also held offers from Indiana, Texas A&M, Kansas, Oregon, Florida, UConn, Georgetown, Providence, Louisville, Boston College, Pitt, Maryland and Texas Tech.

Illnois this week also had a home visit with Class of 2022 point guard Skyy Clark, a former Kentucky commit.
