NHL Predictions
New Jersey Devils vs Chicago Blackhawks
Head-to-Head: Devils 0-0 Blackhawks
TV: NHL Network; NBC Sports Chicago; MSG
Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Devils taking on the Blackhawks. New Jersey will be without Jack Hughes, who survived a nasty crash into the boards after a 4-1 loss to the St Louis Blues. Vitek Vanecek is the projected starter, but always check social media before locking in a fantasy hockey goalie. Not having Hughes in the lineup will be tough. However, the Devils have plenty offensive weapons at their disposal.
Chicago is coming off a 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. Arvid Soderblom is the projected starter in between the pipes for the Blackhawks. Connor Bedard has five goals already in his rookie campaign. The Blackhawks have shown some glimpses of being a good team. However, there has been plenty of inconsistent play. There’s plenty to like about the Hawks, but there still needs to be some work.
New Jersey does have plenty of weapons to choose from when it comes to scoring.
Prediction: Devils win 4-2.
Vegas Golden Knights vs Anaheim Ducks
Head-to-Head: Golden Knights 1-0 Ducks
TV: Bally Sports San Diego; Bally Sports So. California; Scripps
Our last game of today’s NHL predictions has the Vegas Golden Knights looking to stay unbeaten in regulation. Logan Thompson is the projected starter after Adin Hill made 41 saves the night before. William Karlsson leads in goals (6) and assists (9) for the Knights. Vegas is second in goals for and fourth in goals against. The Knights are also top 10 in both penalty kill and on the power play. Vegas is 11-0-1 so far on this young season.
The Anaheim Ducks have been red hot in the first season on new coach Greg Cronin. Anaheim has won five straight games and been a pleasant surprise in the early part of the campaign. Lukas Dostal in the unconfirmed starter at this point for the Ducks.
This could be a surprisingly good game, but we’ll roll with Vegas until otherwise indicated.
Prediction: Golden Knights win 4-3.
