What will Dennis Allen, Declan Doyle, and Al Harris bring to the Chicago Bears?

Taylor Doll got the inside scoop of what three Bears assistant coaches will bring to Ben Johnson’s coaching staff.

On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll chats with Ross Jackson, who covers the New Orleans Saints for LouisianaSports.net and Locked on Saints, about new Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen’s time in The Big Easy. They chat about the type of defense he likes to run and the players who will fit his scheme. They also touch on Chicago’s new offensive coordinator, Declan Doyle, who was with the Saints for four years with Sean Payton, and how he’s climbed through the NFL ranks at such a young age.

“Yeah, he brings in a very kind of attacking approach,” Jackson said of Allen’s defense. “That’s always the word that players use. Like when the Saints signed linebacker Willie Gay Jr. from the Kansas City Chiefs this past offseason, I asked him what it was that he liked about this defense, and he talked about the attacking nature of it.”

“Declan Doyle is going to be the glue personality-wise and culture-wise for that offense,” Jackson said about Chicago’s 28-year-old offensive coordinator.

Taylor is also joined by Mickey Spagnola, who covers the Dallas Cowboys for DallasCowboys.com. They discuss new Bears’ defensive pass-game coordinator and defensive backs coach, Al Harris, what made his secondaries so good in Dallas, and how he developed their young defensive backs.
