The NFL season is in full swing, and it’s time to set your lineups for Week 8 of the fantasy football season. No teams are on a bye this week. There are a couple of quarterbacks that are questionable with injuries including Jayden Daniels and Tua Tagovailoa. Below are the quarterback rankings, tiers, and analysis to help you navigate your lineup decisions for Week 8.
Quarterback Rankings for Week 8 Fantasy Football
Tier 1: Superstar Quarterbacks
1. Josh Allen
2. Lamar Jackson
3. Jordan Love
4. Jalen Hurts
5. Jayden Daniels**
6. Baker Mayfield
7. Joe Burrow
After three out of four weeks finishing outside the top-15 in fantasy quarterbacks, Allen has bounced back with two consecutive top-six finishes. In Week 7, he threw for 323 yards and two touchdowns, despite recording just one rushing yard. Allen has a favorable matchup against the Seahawks next week, and he reclaims the top spot in the quarterback rankings for Week 8.
Love had another solid fantasy day to lead the Packers to a last-second field goal to win the game. Love has thrown for at least two touchdowns in every game he has played this season, but he has also thrown an interception in every game. In Week 8, the Packers play the Jaguars, who have given up the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks on the season. Love has top-three potential in Week 8.
** Daniels is questionable with a rib injury. The Commanders are hopeful he can play.
Tier 2: Low-End QB1s
8. Sam Darnold
9. Jared Goff
10. C.J. Stroud
11. Brock Purdy
12. Dak Prescott
Purdy was not good passing-wise in the 49ers loss to the Chiefs. He threw three interceptions, and he did not have a passing touchdown. However, he had two rushing touchdowns to salvage his fantasy day and finished as a top-eight fantasy quarterback for the second straight week. The 49ers play the Cowboys in a huge matchup on Sunday Night Football. Both teams have underachieved this year and are looking to make a statement. The Cowboys are in the top ten for most fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks on the year, giving Purdy a great chance to continue playing well in fantasy.
Jared Goff continues to impress, throwing for at least two touchdowns in each of the last four games while only tossing one interception during that stretch. He has also finished as a top-ten fantasy quarterback for three consecutive weeks. With his consistent play, Goff is positioning himself as a potential MVP candidate if he keeps it up. Heading into Week 8, Goff remains a solid top-ten option in fantasy quarterback rankings.

Tier 3: Mid-Tier QB2s
13. Russell Wilson
14. Geno Smith
15. Patrick Mahomes
16. Caleb Williams
Wilson was amazing in his first start with the Steelers, leading them to a 37-15 victory over the Jets. He finished with 24.86 fantasy points against one of the better defenses in the league. He was the QB3 for the week. Wilson gets a great matchup against the Giants in Week 8 on Monday Night Football. Wilson proved that he is the right guy to be the starter for the Steelers, and he becomes a must-start in fantasy next week.
Smith was great in Week 7, throwing for more than one touchdown for the first time this season. He only had to throw 28 passes, which was the second lowest total of the season. This is the fifth time Smith has finished as a top twelve fantasy QB. In Week 8, Smith will likely need to air it out more to keep pace with the high-powered Bills offense, making him a solid fantasy option.
Tier 4: Streaming Options
17. Drake Maye
18. Kirk Cousins
19. Tua Tagovailoa**
20. Anthony Richardson
Maye had another great fantasy performance to begin his NFL career. He finished with 20.84 fantasy points after having 19.52 in the previous week. He has two top-ten fantasy finishes in his first two starts. The Patriots do have a much tougher matchup against a Jets defense that is in the top five for the least fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. However, they just allowed Russell Wilson to score over 20 points against them, so their defense is beatable. Maye is moving up the quarterback rankings for Week 8.
Richardson is quickly turning into one of the biggest fantasy busts of the season. Drafted as a top-six to eight quarterbacks, he started strong as the QB4 in Week 1 but has failed to score double-digit fantasy points since. Injuries have played a role, but even when he’s been on the field, he’s struggled, with accuracy being a major issue. His highest completion percentage in four full games is just 50%, making it tough for him to sustain drives or produce big fantasy numbers. At this point, Richardson can be benched in most leagues in favor of a more consistent quarterback.
** Tagovailoa is questionable after missing four games with his concussion. He is trying to play in Week 8.
