Chad Reuter of NFL.com released a four-round mock draft for every team last weekend. In what direction did the draft analyst decide to go for Tennessee? Which quartet of star playmakers landed with the Titans in this mock draft? Who are these players? How could they contribute to the rebuilding of the franchise?
Tennessee Titans Land Quartet Of Stars In Mock Draft
1.1 Cam Ward / QB / Miami
Reuter joins an ever-growing legion of mock drafters selecting the former Miami quarterback with the first overall selection. Ward has separated himself as the top quarterback prospect in the class since the offseason process began gathering pace. All signs point towards the Titans taking a quarterback after declining to address the position significantly in free agency. What did the esteemed analyst say about the selection?
“Ward’s been my top pick for the Titans since they secured the No. 1 overall selection because elite quarterback play is required to make it through the AFC gauntlet. His four-plus years of starting experience at Incarnate Word, Washington State and Miami are a major asset, as are his playmaking ability and toughness.”
2.35 Luther Burden III / WR / Missouri
After selecting the quarterback of its future, the Titans need to support him with a receiver room that needs to command respect from opposing defenses. For various reasons, Burden has become among the more underrated receiving prospects in the class. Missouri’s offensive production fell off last season due to inconsistent quarterback play. His sophomore season was great, producing 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns on 86 receptions. He’s a tremendous athlete who can elevate the speed dimension for the Titans’ beleaguered receiver room.
After losing the ultra-productive Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to the Miami Dolphins, the room is barren behind star Calvin Ridley. Treylon Burks is a candidate to finish his time with the Titans this offseason if they can find a reasonable price for him. Beyond that, it is a hodgepodge of veterans and young hopefuls populating the skill position group. Tennessee is definitely in the market for upgrades through the draft, and Burden would be a solid addition.
4.103 Fadil Diggs / EDGE / Syracuse
Diggs blossomed as a senior in 2024 after transferring from Texas A&M to Syracuse. He produced 7.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 2024. The Titans needed an EDGE rusher even before Harold Landry’s release, so the need is more acute than ever. The Orange pass rusher is a primetime athlete who tested very well at the Combine. Tennessee saw him at the East-West Shrine Game. He could start as a rotational piece as he learns the pro game behind several veterans.
4.120 Bilhal Kone / CB / Western Michigan
The Broncos’ star cornerback is a rising prospect with great ball production. He has 17 pass deflections and two interceptions in two seasons. The Titans need cornerback depth after letting Chidobe Awuzie go to free agency in a surprise release. Kone has tested well during the offseason, running a 4.43 40, which offset some speed concerns. He’s a taller cornerback at 6’1. Tennessee needs an outside cornerback to pair with L’Jarius Sneed when he’s healthy, and Kone fits that bill.
