Weather officials are expecting less than an inch of snow before 9 a.m. Tuesday accompanied with below zero windchills.
Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport are light snow with fog and mist at 15 degrees with a windchill of negative 9 degrees. Farther south at Midway Airport are similar, National Weather Service officials reported.
There is a slight risk of snow Tuesday morning before 9 a.m. with an accumulation of less than an inch, making travel conditions slippery. Windchills will hover between 10 to 15 degrees below zero, north of I-80, officials said.
Tuesday was expected to be blustery with northwest winds blowing between 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph, officials said. Tuesday night temperatures are expected to drop to about 8 degrees with windchills of about negative 4 with wind gusts around 15 mph.
Conditions for the next couple of days are expected to be sunny with the warmest temperature of at least 40 degrees to grace Chicago Friday.
