The Chicago Bears made their second move of the free agency negotiation period Tuesday. They agreed to terms with former Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett on a two-year contract worth $12 million.
Everett will join Cole Kmet as part of a nice duo at tight end. Whoever is under center for Chicago will love having tight-end depth like this.
Last season with the Chargers, Everett totaled 51 receptions for 411 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games. This is pretty good production for a guy who will come to the Bears and be TE2.
General manager Ryan Poles is trying to make the offense better with these new additions. Whether it is Justin Fields or Caleb Williams at quarterback, they are going to have some solid weapons. With DJ Moore, Kmet, D’Andre Swift, and Everett (and whoever they draft), they are going to be in a good place with the offensive talent.
To get excited about what Everett is going to bring to the table, check out these highlights:
Everett is the second free agent signing by the Bears. They agreed to terms with former Philadelphia Eagles running back D’Andre Swift on Monday.
