What will the new look Chicago Bears offense look like vs Green Bay and is there money to be made?
As the Chicago Bears offense collapsed over the last three weeks, so have the success on some of these player props. We have continually hit the props for the opponents, but seeing an offense go from well-executed to a debacle certainly makes you reconsider exactly how you should place wagers on the Bears.
This week, the Bears have a rivalry game with the Green Bay Packers and a new offensive coordinator in Thomas Jones replacing the recently fired Shane Waldron. How will this one play out? Here are three props to consider. Odds courtesy of FanDuel.
Josh Jacobs OVER 72.5 rushing yards -114
I don’t want to just steal money from FanDuel, but if they are going to offer free money, you should take it. The Chicago Bears can’t stop the run and have continually allowed players to go over on rushing totals this season. Josh Jacobs has gone north of 72.5 in his last three games. This is an easy recipe for Jacobs to push for 100 yards on the ground again, especially if you think the Packers will have the lead in the second half.
Caleb Williams OVER 190.5 passing yards -114
I wasn’t planning on going back to the Caleb over passing yards prop again after the offense has struggled the last few weeks, but I also didn’t expect the number to drop this low either. I think the offense is going to have a little bit of a spark in its step with new OC Thomas Brown calling plays. I think the players will want to respond to it and I think we see a Bears offense look the best it has post-bye against a Packers defense that certainty isn’t unbeatable. I don’t think the Bears passing attack will be a well-oiled machine, but I think it can look at least like it did against the Colts and they will try to push the ball down the field more often.
DJ Moore OVER 43.5 receiving yards -114
I think the biggest thing we’ve seen this year is the frustration of DJ Moore. He certainly had a hard time settling into this new offense, and I think many NFL analysts felt that Shane Waldron wasn’t utilizing Moore to his strengths. I think that one of Brown’s biggest priorities is to get the ball to his playmaker and get him the ball in a position where he can make something happen. I think DJ Moore has one of his top three games of the year and is a focal point of the offense. I think Brown will get him the ball out near the sidelines within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage and let DJ do his thing with the football. I also think DJ is aware of the type of press he’s getting and will want to prove that he’s still the guy that was worth the big contract in Chicago.
