Week 10 looks to be an intriguing week for DFS. With so many top players having great matchups, players will have to balance their budgets with cheaper options. Here are a few DFS sleepers for Week 10.
DFS Sleepers Week 10
Quarterback
Derek Carr
Most of the cheaper options at quarterback have tough matchups this week, but one who doesn’t is Derek Carr. Chris Olave has been ruled out for this game, leaving the Saints thin at receiver, but there are other factors. The Falcons give up the 7th most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks and are comfortably in the bottom half for passing yards and total points allowed.
The Saints just fired Dennis Allen and are 2-7 after starting 2-0. It’s pretty standard to see teams react immediately after a coaching change, especially when playing at home. Carr’s ceiling could be higher, but he has a higher floor than some of the other cheaper options. Justin Herbert and Drake Maye face stout passing defenses, and Caleb Williams has been inconsistent.
Carr is priced at $6,700 on FanDuel, making him the fourth-cheapest starting quarterback option. Cooper Rush is another cheap alternative in a game where the Cowboys will likely have to play from behind and throw all game.
Running Back
Jaylen Warren
It’s been a difficult season for Jaylen Warren. He came into the season dealing with a hamstring injury, and a knee injury later kept him out for two weeks. Najee Harris is the clear RB1 for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but there are factors in Warren’s favor.
With Russell Wilson now starting, the offense has become more pass-heavy, and Warren is the pass-catching back. He’s also a more efficient runner than Harris when healthy. Warren’s opportunity share has been rising. He out-snapped Harris in Week 7 and saw nearly 40% in Week 8.
The Steelers coming off a bye will only help him. Warren is priced at $5,500 which less than Braelon Allen, Samaje Perine and Roschon Johnson. It’s not the most exciting pick but considering his price and the names around him, Warren is a good low-budget option.
Wide Receiver
Jauan Jennings
The San Francisco 49ers are up against it for the first time in a few seasons. They’re sitting at 4-4, third in their division, and have a demanding schedule coming up. This game is the perfect opportunity for them to kick-start their season. Christian McCaffrey is set to make his long-awaited season debut, and they’re coming off a bye.
Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL in Week 7 and is out for the season. Enter Jauan Jennings. Jennings scored three touchdowns and had 175 yards in his lone game as the team’s WR2 this season. He’s ready to take on an expanded role for the first time in his career. It’s a phenomenal matchup for Jennings, too. The Buccaneers give up the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers and the third-most passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks.
Deebo Samuel is listed as questionable with rib and oblique injuries. He’s likely to play, but Jennings will get even more volume if he doesn’t. His $5,800 price tag is level with Joshua Palmer and only $2oo more than names like Gabe Davis, Xavier Hutchinson, and Kavontae Turpin. Ricky Pearsall is another cheap 49ers receiver at $5,700. He’s finally healthy and will have a chance to show why the 49ers used a first-round pick on him.
Tight End
Hunter Henry
With Brock Bowers, Mark Andrews, Tucker Kraft and David Njoku unavailable, Week 10 is grueling for tight ends in DFS. Luckily, Hunter Henry has emerged with Maye under center. He’s had at least five targets and 40 receiving yards in every game since Maye took over.
The Bears give up the third-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers but are near the bottom third for points allowed to tight ends. The Patriots receivers are doing next to nothing in this offense, and Henry is their leading receiver. The offense has looked much better with Maye, and it starts with Henry catching passes over the middle.
Henry’s $5,300 price is only $100 more than Noah Gray and is level with Juwan Johnson. He’s hardly an unknown, but his price makes him an excellent DFS Week 10 sleeper at tight end.
