The Bears’ 2nd round could provide a lot of Madness. Who do you want them to choose?
March Madness has arrived! Buzzer beaters, Cinderellas, and two 2nd Round picks.
You heard that right – as the NCAA tournament enters the Sweet 16, we thought we would develop our own tournament of future Chicago Bears champions.
This thought exercise would be fun for first-round selections, but there aren’t enough viable options to make the tournament fun. It would devolve into Ashton Jeanty vs. Mason Graham pretty quickly.
Now, the 2nd round? That’s where the fun starts for the Bears. Owners of picks 39 and 41 in a draft where there is more good depth than there is high end talent means that there are a million different permutations of where things could go for the Bears.
So, over the next week we will be choosing WCG’s 2025 2nd Round Draft Champion(s). The marketing team may need to help me out with tightening this up. Anyways, without further ado – the bracket!

Here is the thing – there are probably 40 more prospects that could conceivably fit into the world of potential Bears 2nd round picks. Will Omarion Hampton’s rise put him out of reach for the Bears? Will Josh Simmons’ injury concerns lead to a draft day fall? Are the Bears infatuated with a CB that we just aren’t privy to? It’s all impossible to say. But these 16 prospects have largely been in the conversation nationally, locally, and fandom-ly.
In total, this bracket contains:
- 3 Edge Defenders
- 3 Offensive Linemen
- 2 Safeties
- 3 Interior Defensive Linemen
- 4 Running Backs
- 1 Tight End
The ranks are also roughly based on different Big Boards at PFF, ESPN, NFL.com, etc. It’s an imperfect science, yes, but this is also a hypothetical Sweet 16 bracket for Bears 2nd round picks. It’s fun – so let’s argue with that sentiment front and center.
Voting will include every matchup of each round, so today you will vote for 8 matchups, tomorrow for 4 matchups, and so on, until we have our champ.
