CHICAGO (WGN) — The Chicago Bears placed safety Jaquan Brisker on injured reserve Thursday, team officials announced.
Brisker will miss his fifth consecutive game Sunday since exiting the Bears’ Week 5 matchup against the Carolina Panthers with a concussion he suffered on a collision with the Panthers’ Tommy Tremble.
Under NFL guidelines, players who are placed on injured reserve have to sit out a minimum of four games, meaning Brisker will not be eligible to return to the team until after Week 14 when Chicago travels to play at the San Francisco 49ers.
Brisker accounted for 40 combined tackles, two passes defended, an interception, a forced fumble and a sack in five games played this season.
The former Penn State Nittany Lion entered 2024 coming off back-to-back 100 tackle seasons where he also accumulated at least one interception and one forced fumble in each of his first two years in the NFL.
The Bears take on the Green Bay Packers Sunday at Soldier Field, with kickoff set for noon CT.
