LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Bears fans will get their first glimpse of Caleb Williams in game action on Saturday.
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus announced at his press conference Thursday that the team’s starters, including Williams at quarterback, will play in Saturday’s preseason game against the Bills in Buffalo.
The Bears drafted Williams, one of the most highly-touted quarterback prospects to come out of college in years, with the No. 1 overall pick this spring.
Along with other Bears starters, Williams did not play in the team’s preseason opener last week Thursday, a 21-17 storm-shortened victory over the Houston Texans in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.
The Bears play three more preseason games, including Saturday, before their regular-season opener on Sept. 8 against the Tennessee Titans at Soldier Field.
Kickoff for Saturday’s preseason game in Buffalo is scheduled for noon.
