Only three major pro sports teams in the U.S. have more expensive games to attend, on average, than the Chicago Bears, according to one sports betting site.
In a news release Tuesday morning, GamingToday.com revealed its data for the U.S. sports teams whose fans spend the most, on average, to attend games.
According to the release, the Bears are the fourth-most expensive team to see nationwide, behind three other NFL franchises, the Dallas Cowboys, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions.
GamingToday.com says the data comes from an analysis of ticket prices on SeatGeek.com “for every team across America’s top tier for football, basketball, ice hockey and soccer.”
According to the data, the Bears have an average ticket price of $370.73, which is 180.67% above the average price for all U.S. “top-tier” teams.
The Cowboys rank as the most expensive, according to the data, at $399.50 for average ticket price and 202.45% above average, followed by the Chiefs ($391.96, 196.74% above average) and the Lions ($382.88, 189.87% above average).
Not surprisingly, the data show NFL games are the most expensive to attend, with nine NFL teams among the top 10, according to GamingToday.com.
The Bears’ biggest rival, the Green Bay Packers, tied for No. 8 with the San Francisco 49ers at an average ticket price of $334.50, 153.24% above average.
The lone non-NFL franchise in the top 10 is the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, who rank No. 6 at $365.75 per ticket, 176.9% above average.
