Despite rumors of going to either the Bears or the Jaguars, Jeanty was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders as the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This is not the best landing spot for Jeanty, but does he still have a great dynasty outlook?
Dynasty Outlook for Ashton Jeanty
Current Production
Jeanty put the football world on notice in 2024, rushing for 2,601 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns on 374 carries in 14 games. He was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy and led Boise State to a Mountain West Conference Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff. Jeanty was unstoppable on the ground. He added 23 receptions for 138 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jeanty ran for over 100 yards in every game, including 192 against Oregon early in the season. He had six games over 200 rushing yards.
Jeanty Dynasty Price
According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Jeanty is the RB3. Only Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson rank higher than Jeanty. Jeanty even ranks ahead of Saquon Barkley and De’Von Achane. He is the overall 18th-best player in dynasty.
Jeanty is the clear #1 overall pick in both Superflex and Rookie Dynasty Drafts for 2025. No one should even be considered to go higher than him.
Ashton Jeanty Dynasty Outlook
The Raiders are not the best landing spot for Jeanty, but he immediately becomes the workhorse back for them with little competition. They did sign Raheem Mostert to pair with Zamir White, but Jeanty will see at least 20-25 touches a game.
The Raiders offense will be better this year than they were last year. They traded for Geno Smith, which is a major upgrade at Quarterback. They have one of the best tight ends in the league in Brock Bowers, giving them a decent weapon to pair with Jeanty. Additionally, they have a new head coach Pete Carroll. Jeanty becomes Carroll’s Marshawn Lynch type of beast runner. The Bears would have been a better landing spot for Jeanty, but he is in a position to succeed with the Raiders.
Should You Draft Ashton Jeanty in Dynasty Leagues or Look to Trade the Pick?
Yes, every fantasy manager with the 1.01 pick in rookie drafts should be drafting Jeanty. Jeanty is one of the best running back prospects since Saquon Barkley. Bijan Robinson was drafted with the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he has two top-ten fantasy finishes to begin his career. Gibbs was drafted with the twelfth overall pick in that same draft, and he also has two top-ten finishes to start his career. Rookies drafted early in the first round have had lots of recent success in fantasy. Jeanty is worth every bit of that 1.01 pick. Even rebuilding teams should draft Jeanty, as he gives managers a stable running back for over five seasons. Being drafted by the Raiders was not the best possible outcome for Jeanty. However, fantasy managers, who have the 1.01 in rookie drafts, should still be happy about the situation.
