Only three days after the Chicago Bears’s hair-pulling loss to the New Orleans Saints, the team is preparing for a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Two lightweight teams stepping into the ring to finally decide who the worst team in the league is, as millions of NFL fans watch three minutes of the prime-time football game before it’s shut off with the quickness. Us Bears fans are cursed to have some stake in the contest, so we will have to tape our eyes open to watch the Week 10 matchup.
All jokes aside, Chicago really does have some reason to win this game. The Bears own Carolina’s first round pick in 2024 NFL draft as part of the trade for the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft (along with DJ Moore), and the Bears would have a top-three pick while still retaining their own selection should the season end today. It goes without saying further burying the Panthers down the standings is in Chicago’s best interest, and that’s what they’ll set out to do Thursday night at home.
