The Chicago Bears are in a prime position ahead of the 2024 NFL draft, where they have a pair of top-10 selections, including the first overall pick.
At this point, it would be a complete shock if Chicago didn’t draft quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick. So the focus has shifted to what the Bears will do with pick No. 9, where there should be several options for them to land another impact player.
During the NFL owners meetings, general manager Ryan Poles talked at length about the process of choosing what to do with the ninth overall pick. But he indicated the three positions that would be up for grabs at that spot — wide receiver, edge rusher and offensive tackle.
So it’s no surprise that in the latest round of mock drafts that experts have Chicago going in one of those three directions. On the one hand, they help new quarterback Caleb Williams with a new weapon or protection up front. But they could also find a complement for stud Montez Sweat off the edge. Either way, it’ll be a huge boost to an ascending Bears team that could be looking to contend for the postseason in 2024.
