CHICAGO (WGN) — The Chicago Bulls and point guard Lonzo Ball have agreed to a two-year contract extension, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Charania reports the deal is worth $20 million over two years.
Ball is currently averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals on 21.6 minutes per game, which is an accomplishment in its own right for him.
Ball is back playing NBA basketball after spending two years away from the game recovering from a series of debilitating knee injuries.
After undergoing arthroscopic debridement along with cartilage and meniscus replacement surgeries from 2022 to May 2024, he was cleared to participate in full-contact five-on-five scrimmages. On Oct. 23, 2024, he played in an NBA game for the first time since Jan. 14, 2022, when the Bulls opened up their season at the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Bulls play tonight at the Minnesota Timberwolves.
