During the fourth quarter of last night’s game between the Chicago Sky and New York Liberty, rookie forward Angel Reese was ejected after complaining about an official’s call.
After receiving her first technical foul, Reese appeared to wave off the referee. That quickly led to her ejection.
Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball was clearly watching Tuesday night’s game. Not only did he make it known on social media that he disagreed with Reese’s ejection, he hinted that he’ll pay for any potential fine.
“Ref that threw out @Reese10Angel is weak btw… You know who you are (Keep ya money Angel I got you),” Ball wrote on X.
Reese replied to this post from Ball. She said, “appreciate you gang.”
Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon, meanwhile, addressed Reese’s ejection during her postgame press conference. She apparently didn’t receive an explanation from the referees.
“I tried to get an explanation. I did not,” Weatherspoon said, via ESPN. “I don’t know to this moment what has happened.”
Reese finished Tuesday’s game with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Obviously, her ejection overshadowed that performance.
The Sky will be back in action on Thursday night against the Washington Mystics.
