If you’re familiar with NBA history, you know that Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas do not like each other.
The rivalry that started in the 1980s and heated up after Jordan reportedly kept Thomas off the Dream Team continues to this day and has shown no signs of stopping.
On Thursday, Thomas was involved in a discussion on X/Twitter about the Bulls’ dynasty with Jordan and how it measured up to those of the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers.
At one point in the conversation, former Chicago general manager Jerry Krause was mentioned, and Thomas fiercely defended the embattled late executive.
“I have great respect for Jerry Krause. He was a genius who deserved way more respect than the Bulls sadly gave him,” Thomas said in one tweet.
When a follower argued that Krause “couldn’t stay out of his own way,” Thomas fired back.
“I disagree. Jerry Krause, the architect of six NBA championships, is well respected by all NBA teams and franchises but not by the Bulls players. I find that to be very sad,” he said.
Jordan and Jerry Krause had a famously adversarial relationship, and many blamed Jordan’s frequent bashing of the Hall of Fame GM for Bulls fans cruelly booing his widow at a game during the 2023-24 season.
Whether that is fair or not is up for debate, but it’s clear that Isiah doesn’t like the way Krause was treated over the years by “His Airness” and his teammates.
