Dwight Howard was recently named a member of the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame class, alongside Carmelo Anthony. The former three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner and NBA champion has a worthy HOF resume. In the last few years, Howard has been playing in Thailand. Howard has been posting on his social media about his plans for the HOF induction.
Dwight Howard Has Huge Plans for Hall of Fame Induction
Howard has been in the media for the last two days because of his HOF induction. Today, he posted on his social media about what he expects during the Hall of Fame induction, saying,
“They said “‘You’re the happiest hall of famer’ hell yeah everything I went through in my career? Man, I smiled through those storms so yeah I’m going to be happy and yeah I’m going to cry. First Ballot!”

Throughout his entire career, Howard had a reputation for being too happy in winning. But he was instrumental in helping the Lakers win their title in 2020 alongside LeBron James. He also led the Orlando Magic to the Finals, only to lose to Kobe Bryant.
Yesterday, Dwight Howard talked about who he wants to welcome him to the Hall of Fame. He said he wants Kevin Garnet, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to walk him out.
I want KG , Shaq, and Kareem to walk me out

Dwight Howard Career Stats
Dwight Howard made his mark more so on the defensive end. He was a three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner. Dwight is the only player to win DPOY three consecutive years. He could have won four in a row, but Tyson Chandler won the award for the 2011-12 season after he completely transformed the New York Knicks.
Dwight has led the NBA in rebounds for five seasons, and led the league in blocks two times. He is 10th all-time in career rebounds, and is 13th all-time in blocks. Every person on the rebounds list ahead of him is in the Hall of Fame.
Despite being mostly a role player in his latest years, Howard has a double-double career average of 15.7 points and 11.8 rebounds. Besides winning DPOYs, he was a top-five MVP candidate for four consecutive years. His highest finish was second in 2010-11 behind Derrick Rose.
Another Dwight Meme Incoming
Dwight Howard has a history of crying during big celebrations. On March 24, he was inducted into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame. During his speech, he got emotional and cried on live television. It turned out into a huge meme.
We cannot forget how emotional he was after the Los Angeles Lakers won their championship title in 2020. So, when the self-proclaimed Superman jokes about crying during his HOF induction, it is something that people can expect from him. It would not be the first time Dwight let out a tear.
Dwight was an eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA, three-time DPOY winner, a 2020 NBA Champion, and a gold medalist in the 2008 Olympics with Team USA. The Hall of Fame enshrinement weekend is scheduled for September 5-6 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, and the Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
