DeMar DeRozan will leave the Chicago Bulls this offseason with a source telling the Chicago Sun-Times that their trade of Alex Caruso for Josh Giddey was “the final star” for his departure. At one point, DeRozan was expected to re-sign with the Bulls but they pivoted toward a youth movement.
The Bulls acquired DeRozan in 2021 on a three-year, $85 million sign-and-trade. While the deal was met with skepticism, DeRozan outperformed it and was a Second Team All-NBA selection in Year 1. As the Bulls dealt with injuries to Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine, the constant over the past few seasons was DeRozan.
DeRozan is represented by Aaron Goodwin.
