Touki Toussaint made his eighth start (12th appearance) of the season and fifth (seventh) on the road. He went 4.0 IP with 3 H, 3 ER and 4 K. Tanner Banks, Lane Ramsey, Aaron Bummer and Gregory Santos provided solid innings of relief, tossing 5.0 IP with 2 H and 5 K.
The Good Guys got the scoring going first at Wrigley Field! Yoán Moncada grounded into a force out, driving home Andrew Benintendi. The lead didn’t last long. The Chicago Cubs got on the board with an Ian Happ home run, his 14th of the season, to give the Northsiders the lead, 2–1.
Elvis Andrus had a big hit in the 2nd! №1 singled on a line drive to score Yasmani Grandal giving the White Sox the lead, 3–2. In the bottom of the 4th, Seiya Suzuki homered to tie the game at 3.
In epic fashion, Luis Robert Jr. showed off his strength! La Pantera hit a 422 ft. homer to left center field to put the Sox on top, 4–3. It was his 32nd home run of the 2023 season.
Andrew Benintendi added an insurance run in the 9th with an RBI double to plate Elvis Andrus.
