Oh look, another milkshake!
The 2025 Chicago White Sox media day did not disappoint, especially with this season’s new signature food items. Each year the organization continues to up its game in their offerings around the ballpark. After the viral Campfire Milkshake from last season, we all knew there would be some sort of a level-up to keep fans coming back for more. We will introduce those items in just a few moments one-by-one, and give you a sneak peek at what to expect around Rate Field this season.
South Side Sox was fortunate enough to be invited to 2025 Media Preview, with each new item being introduced and sampled — and let’s just say, none of them disappointed. Hannah and Allie will go through the samples they tried below, giving their opinion and ratings.
LUCKY’S Korean Dogs

Hannah LaMotta/South Side Sox
El Diablo
As someone who loves Korean Corn Dogs, this was a perfect addition to the ballpark, and honestly fit as one of the missing pieces of food options at Rate Field. This was mozzarella, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, sambal mayo, and fu sauce. It was great, and I can see it being a big hit around the ballpark. The Flamin’ Hot Cheetos was the perfect touch on the outside, to go along with the mozzarella on the inside. Of course with the sauces added to the top, it had a little kick to it, hence the name. Nonetheless, a perfect addition and something I will definitely be getting again this season. — Hannah
Do you like cheese? Do you like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos? Then I have a new ballpark item for you to try. This is the perfect mix of crunchy and gooey cheese and the spicy sauce on top played well with all the other flavors. This was one of my favorite tries of the day. — Allie
All-American
I was a little skeptical when they told me the breading has frosted flake in it, but the hot dog played well with this coating for a slight spin on the classic corndog. I could do without the ketchup and mustard drizzled on top: It was a little overpowering, and I like to control the amount of sauce on my food. I am hoping that the sauce is served separately come the season. — Allie

Unicorn
For a sweet twist on Korean Corn Dogs, this item really was perfect. With a marshmallow base, Fruity Pebbles on the outside, and sweet condensed milk as the topping, it had a lot of variety and flavor. You’d think it would be too sweet, but it was actually the perfect balance. The sweet condensed milk was a good touch to me, and I was surprised at how much I liked it. Maybe couldn’t eat an entire one myself, but this could be good to split with someone and be satisfied in a few bites. — Hannah
I echo Hannah. I typically am a savory over sweet person when it comes to treats, but this was great. The marshmallow melted nicely and the Fruity Pebbles added a nice crunch and extra layer of flavor. Kids are going to love this! — Allie
LUCKY’S Bubble Waffles

Allie Wesel/South Side Sox
Changeup Bubble Waffle
This item offered another sweet taste of vanilla ice cream, black sugar boba, mocha syrup, and a pirouline cookie, all topped with ginger chewy flakes. To me, the most important part of any dessert involving ice cream is the ice cream itself, and this was the perfect flavor of vanilla and creaminess. The boba balls mixed in enhanced the ice cream, as well; if you like boba tea you would love this combination. This dessert was another hit. — Hannah
Who doesn’t like ice cream? This was good, but definitely not one of my favorites of the day. The cold ice cream lent itself to stiffening up the soft waffle, making it a little messy and hard to eat. The boba and the ginger is a great flavor combination with the ice cream. I can see this being refreshing during a hot game, and a great alternative to a shake or a traditional ice cream cone. — Allie

Gojujang Bubble Waffle
Now this waffle did not get frozen because of ice cream, and it was soft and delicious. Chicken and waffles is such a lovely pairing, and the Gojujang honey sauce with the toasted sesame seeds was both sweet and savory. I will risk the sticky fingers to grab one of these this summer. — Allie

LUCKY’S Chili Crunch Noodles
The White Sox will be offering two varieties of Lucky’s noodles this season. In the cold months we will see these warm chili crunch noodles, and warmer months will introduce a cold noodle option. As for the warm noodles, these were light but also so flavorful, loaded with mushrooms. The wide noodles held the chili sauce well. I also got a refreshing note of lime and cilantro throughout. I look forward to seeing what the cold noodle has to offer. —Allie
Both LUCKY’s items will be available at a new, revamped stand in Section 154.

Hannah LaMotta/South Side Sox
The OG Sando
You know when you see a chicken sandwich and you can just tell by the quality that it’s going to be good? Well, that was this sandwich. To start, it had a crispy habanero brine, topped with a spicy sauce and pickles. It was high-quality chicken, with a spicy kick between the sauce and habanero brine. I can also see this being a fan favorite around the ballpark, and I will be getting it throughout the season again. This item will be available in Section 110. — Hannah
This was another top bite of the day. I am cautious about saying that something is perfect, but this is close. Move over, Chik-fil-A! There is definite heat to this sandwich, so if you don’t have a tolerance for spice this might not be for you. It starts with the habanero-brined chicken, fried to perfection and crunchy, and ends with a spicy aioli-type sauce. The pickles add a nice refreshing crunch to break up the chicken and the sauce. I could have grabbed three more of these. Also, I can’t wait to try the Fuku chicken tenders in Section 110 in addition to this sandwich. — Allie
Levy Items
Levy restaurants will have these items available in a variety of stands throughout the park, including the Club Level, Diamond Suites, Rate Club, Stadium Club, and Wintrust Scout Seats:

Strawberry Cream Nachos
These were THE item. I have almost no words for how good they were. Honestly, this is one of the best things I have ever had. The chips were cinnamon sugar-flavored, topped with strawberry salsa, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries. If you love strawberries, you will love these. Even if you don’t, you would still love these. I would go to the ballpark just to eat these, not even kidding. Anyways, I could rave all day, but trust me when I say this is one of the best concessions ever. — Hannah
I have said twice that this was one of my favorite bites, but this was my top bite of the day. It starts with crispy cinnamon sugar tortilla chips that are topped with a fresh strawberry salsa that I could have eaten by the bowl. It was sweet, but there was also mint and lime to add a citrus flavor. And you can’t have strawberries in dessert without whip cream! If I ever have the privilege to sit in the Club Level this season I will be making sure to have one (or two) of these during my visit. — Allie

Loaded Brisket Curds
When it comes to favorite savory bites of the day, this was it. First off, who doesn’t love cheese curds? Then you add brisket in a sweet barbecue sauce and a refreshing coleslaw, and you have a masterpiece that also may be threatening a heart attack. This will be the dish preceding my strawberry nachos should I find myself in the Club Level this season. You only live once, and I will be eating tasty food as I am doing it. — Allie

35th St. Reuben
This was a Reuben. What you see is what you get, and if you like Ruebens, you will like this sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good sandwich, but I won’t be going home raving about the Rueben I had. Then again, I don’t think that’s the point of this one. — Allie

The Chi-Talian
I LOVE Italian subs, and this is a good one, packed with genoa salami, spicy capicola and ham and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, giardiniera relsih, oil and vinegar. What takes this sandwich over the top for me is the giardiniera relish. It added an additional layer of spiciness and crunch that makes this Chi-Talian a must-grab this summer in the Stadium Club. — Allie

The All-Pro
I love pretzel bread, and I love mustard on my pretzels. I like the flavor combination with ham and swiss cheese. That’s all there is to say about this very lovely, warm sandwich. It is simple, but it is flavorful and worth a try. — Allie

Celebration Cake Shake
Last but not least is another addition to the milkshake “family.” The celebration cake shake not only honors the 125-year anniversary of the team, but the pinwheel cookie references the iconic scoreboard as well. This shake has a birthday cake-flavored milkshake base, topped with fresh cake, a pinwheel cookie, whip cream and a cherry. I really like the design and theme behind the shake, and it is a good contrast to the chocolate Campfire Milkshake. It wasn’t overly sweet as I expected, but either way I don’t think I could ever drink a full serving of either shake. Either way, this seems like a hit, and think it will be just as popular as the Campfire Milkshake was last year. Plus if you get this one, you can add a new cup to your collection! — Hannah
I love this milkshake even more knowing that the White Sox are sourcing the cake and pinwheel cookies for this shake from a local, women-owned bakery. Again, I am not a huge sweets person and I expected birthday cake ice cream with confetti cake to be overwhelming, and again, I was proven wrong. It is sweet, and tastes like a celebration in a cup. I did also only have a small sample, so I would venture to say that I would have to share this with someone should I find myself seeking it out this summer. — Allie
Thank you to South Side Sox and the White Sox once again for giving us the opportunity to attend this event and preview these items. We will definitely be going back for seconds on probably all of the items, as the White Sox once again hit on everything.
