My alphabeticalish player-by-player review — @soxnerd style — of the 2024 White Sox continues with ANDREW VAUGHN:
*Vaughn led the 2024 White Sox with 140 games, 619 plate appearances, 570 at bats, 55 runs, 140 hits, 30 doubles, 70 RBI and 229 total bases.
*His 140 hits in 2024 were the lowest total by a Sox full-season leader since Lamar Johnson’s 136 in 1978
*Vaughn’s run total tied with Luis Aparicio’s 1968 output for the lowest total to lead the Sox in a full season.
*Vaughn hit at least 15 home runs for the fourth straight season in 2024. He joins Jose Abreu (9), Carlos Lee (7) and Ramirez (5) as the only Sox to hit at least 15 homers in each of their first four big league seasons.
*Vaughn ended 2024 with 72 homers, which is third in history among players who played exclusively for the Sox behind Ron Karkovice’s 96 and Luis Robert Jr.’s 88.
