In honor of today’s giveaway of a 1920 White Sox-style hoodie, here’s a look at that team:
–Franchise’s 20th team (21st unofficial) went 96-58 and finished second under manager Kid Gleason

—The 1920 White Sox boasted four 20-game winners: Red Faber, Ed Cicotte, Lefty Williams and Dickie Kerr (a feat that wouldn’t be duplicated until the 1971 Orioles did it)
–The 1920 White Sox with Buck Weaver, Joe Jackson and Eddie Collins joined the 1921 Browns as the only teams in the 20th Century with three players with at least 210 hits
–With Lefty Williams winning three times, the 1920 White Sox became the first team in franchise history to start a season 6-0
–The 1920 Sox joined the 1982 Sox and 1991 Sox as the only teams in franchise history to start at least 6-0
–Only the 1917 (100), 2005 (99), 1983 (99) and 1964 (98) teams won more games than the 1920 Sox (96)
–Only the 1917 (.649) and 1919 (.629) teams had a better winning percentage than the 1920 Sox’s .623
–The 1920 Sox won 14 extra-inning games a club record that wasn’t broken until the 1965 squad won 15 OT affairs
–Led by Joe Jackson’s .382 clip, the 1920 Sox set a club mark which still stands with a .295 average
–Joe Jackson set a Sox record with a .382 average in 1920 (broken by Luke Appling’s .388 in 1936)
–Joe Jackson led the American League wtih 20 triples for the 1920 White Sox
