Trayce Thompson would add some insurance in the bottom of the sixth with a 2-run homer to left center field, bringing home Oscar Colás and putting the Sox up 3–0.
But, Seattle was looking to keep their win streak alive. Josh Rojas singled on a soft bunt to first to score Jose Caballero, making the score 3–1 in the seventh.
The Mariners would go on to score 3 in the top of the ninth inning. Julio Rodríguez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Josh Rojas. Eugenio Suárez knocks a single to center field, allowing Cal Raleigh and J.P. Crawford to score.
Andrew Benintendi answers for the Sox, lining a baseball to left field to bring in Oscar Colás, who hustled from second to home, and ties the game at 4 to send it to extras.
Sox pitching held Seattle scoreless in the tenth. With Tim Anderson on second, Elvis Andrus was up to bat. Anderson took a big jump to steal third. On a wide throw by the Seattle second baseman, Anderson scored to secure the win the for the Sox.
Michael Kopech started on the mound and tossed 4.0 innings while striking out five Mariners. Bryan Shaw came in in relief tossing 2.0 innings with one strikeout. Aaron Bummer fanned three in one inning and George Santos struck out two. Edgar Navarro held it down in the ninth and Sammy Peralta earns the win while striking out one.
