White Sox struck first on a Luis Robert Jr. solo home run to center field in the bottom of the first inning.
The Red Sox tied the game in the top of the third inning by Bobby Dalbec and took the lead when Jarren Duran stole home.
However, their lead did not last long. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Paul DeJong singles on a line drive to left field, allowing Gavin Sheets to score timing against the Red Sox 2–2. Oscar Colás singled on a sharp ground ball to center field, bringing home Andrew Vaughn and Paul DeJong. White Sox now take a 4–2 lead.
Later in the sixth inning, Gavin Sheets and Andrew Vaughn launch back-to-back homers to extend the lead.
Paul DeJong tacks on another run on an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning, scoring Gavin Sheets.
Gavin Sheets went 1 for 2 with one home run and two walks. Andrew Vaughn went 2 for 4 with one home run. Paul DeJong went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Oscar Colás went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI.
Starting pitcher Garrett Crochet once again had a dominant outing. He tossed 6.0 innings giving up only three hits and fanning 10 batters. Jonathan Cannon came in in relief, pitching 3.0 innings, striking out 4 and earning the save.
