Right-handed starter Bobby Miller will get the start on Wednesday for the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Manager Dave Roberts made the announcement after playing coy for several days. Miller was pulled early from his last start at Triple-A Oklahoma City after just over three innings. Tomorrow is the last game against the Colorado Rockies and the homestand before the Dodgers hit the road again.

Bobby Miller Will Start for Dodgers on Wednesday
A Tough 2024
Bobby Miller has the best pitching repertoire of any hurler in the Los Angeles organization. Unfortunately, apart from a few bright spots, it hasn’t translated on a major league mound yet. He posted a lackluster 2-4 record with an unimpressive 8.52 ERA in 2024. He struck out 52 in 56 innings and walked 30. It was revealed that he was dealing with an ailing shoulder and a sore right knee throughout last season. Those injuries undoubtedly affected his mechanics, but the 26-year-old righty refused to use that as an excuse.
New Beginnings
Miller was vying for the final spot in the Dodgers rotation along with Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May in spring training. Blake Snell had taken Miller under his wing and was helping him make mechanical adjustments to his delivery, However, his bid to make the major league roster was derailed when he was struck in the head with a line drive during an exhibition game. Miller has been pitching at Triple-A Oklahoma City since his return to the mound. He has been more than decent, with a 2.25 ERA in 12 innings pitched
Pressed Into Service
Now Miller will be doing his best to replace Snell, who is on the injured list with left shoulder inflammation. Miller’s turn in the rotation seems to be a stopgap measure. However, it is clear the Dodgers are hoping for a more effective start than they have received from previous fill-ins.
Miller is hoping the same. He would like to make the most of his second chance.
