MLB Pipeline now projects that top Philadelphia Phillies prospect Aidan Miller will reach the majors in 2026. Miller is ranked as the eighth-best shortstop prospect according to MLB Pipeline. Previously MLB Pipeline projected that Miller would reach the majors in 2027. Miller will be a non-roster invitee participant in Phillies spring training this year. Other top Phillies prospects, Andrew Painter and Justin Crawford, will also be at spring training as non-roster invitees. Crawford could see time in the majors this season as well. Painter is expected to play in the majors at some point this summer.

Quick Rise Through The Minor Leagues And Prospect Rankings
Miller had a .261/.366/.446 line with 11 home runs and 60 RBI in 102 minor league games last season. In addition, Miller had a 133 wRC+ and a .379 wOBA last season. Miller spent most of the season at Low-A and High-A before finishing up the 2024 season at Double-A. In addition, Miller recorded 23 stolen bases last season. Miller had a 21.6% strikeout rate and a 12.1% walk rate in the minors in 2024. In June, MLB Pipeline ranked Miller as the second prospect in the Phillies organization and 47th in baseball. According to MLB Pipeline, Miller finished the 2024 season as Philadephia’s top prospect and the 26th-ranked prospect in baseball.
After being drafted in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft, Miller had a brief minor league season that year. In 20 minor league games in 2023, Miller had a .303/.425/.379 line with no home runs and two RBI. Miller had a 128 wRC+ and a .403 wOBA in 2023. Furthermore, Miller had an 18.8% strikeout rate and a 15.0% walk rate that season. Miller played in 10 complex league before playing 10 games at Low-A in 2023. Currently, Miller is 20 and was drafted out of high school. Miller is one of the best infield prospects in baseball.
Path To The Major Leagues For Miller
Miller will not reach the majors in 2025, in all likelihood. This is in part because Miller has played 10 games at Double-A. However, Miller will have a chance to make an impression in spring training. It is interesting that MLB Pipeline updated its ETA for Miller. Phillies general manager Preston Mattingly speaks highly of Miller. Additionally, the Phillies seem prepared to move Miller up to the next level if they feel he is ready for it. In all likelihood, Miller is not in a position where the Phillies hold him back. Based on this updated projection, Miller being on the Phillies major league roster next year is not out of the question.
Right now, Miller plays shortstop. However, Miller moving to third base in the majors has been widely speculated. Alec Bohm is under team control through the 2026 season. Bohm has been the subject of trade rumors that have yet to materialize this offseason. If the Phillies let Bohm walk in free agency after the 2026 season, Miller could very well be the starting third baseman for the club in 2027. It is worth noting that Bryson Stott is under team control through the 2027 season. Regardless of the infield position Miller plays in the majors, there is a path for him to become an everyday player relatively quickly.
