The White Sox offense came out strong in the final game of the series against the Oakland Athletics. In the bottom of the first, Tim Anderson hit a leadoff double to right field. Eloy Jiménez followed with a walk. Andrew Vaughn brought Anderson home on a single to left field, giving the Sox an early 1–0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, the offense kept the momentum. Following a single from Andrew Benintendi, Andrew Vaughn singles on a ground ball to third. A throwing error by third baseman, Jordan Diaz, allows Benintendi to score, 2–0. After a Yoán Moncada single moves Vaughn to third, Vaughn scores on a wild pitch to give the White Sox a 3–0 lead going into the fourth.
The Athletics attempted a comeback in the top of the sixth inning when Zack Gelof hit a sacrifice fly to score Esteury Ruiz and tighten the White Sox lead, 3–1.
The White Sox offense answered quickly. Moncada hit a triple to right field to start the sixth inning. Gavin Sheets followed suit with an RBI single to score Moncada and widen the White Sox lead, 4–1.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, singles from both Anderson and Benintendi put runners in scoring position. Moncada continues his hitting streak with an RBI double to score both runners and give the Sox a 6–1 lead.
Moncada went 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs, 1 single, 1 double, and 1 triple. Mike Clevinger earned the win with a final line of 7.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10K.
Lane Ramsey notched 2 strikeouts and Tanner Banks notched 1 strikeout to secure the win.
