Ranger Suárez could be traded in a subsequent move. Suárez is under team control through the 2025 season. Phillies top pitching prospect Andrew Painter is expected to pitch at the big league level in 2025. Painter is currently blocked to some extent. After the Boston Red Sox traded with the Chicago White Sox for Garrett Crochet, it looked less likely that Suárez would be dealt. The Phillies were interested in a Crochet deal. Luzardo coming to the Phillies might lead to a Suárez trade.
