It’s been five years. What can fans expect this weekend?
After a five-year hiatus, SoxFest is almost here. The White Sox will host the 2025 fan event at the historic Ramova Theater on Friday, January 24, and Saturday, January 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The festival will offer fans a variety of experiences, including interacting with current players and White Sox legends, as well as engaging in on-stage conversations and programming.
A Black Carpet ceremony with player introductions will kick off the event for those with VIP tickets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Immediately following, the evening will start at 5:00 p.m. for all participants with an on-stage “State of the White Sox” panel. Next up is a performance by the band The DIFF, starring broadcaster Len Kasper. Finally, the night will wrap up with a 2005 World Series celebration featuring Mark Buehrle, José Contreras, and Freddy García.
Saturday will have a similar format with a few tweaks. In the afternoon, kids can get involved with the action by participating in the SoxFest Kids camp at the ComEd Rec Center from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This clinic will provide youth baseball and softball players with a variety of baseball activities, including rotating stations where they can learn from and interact with current and former players, including José Contreras, Chase Meidroth, Edgar Quero, Miguel Vargas, and Andrew Vaughn. There will also be autograph and photo opportunities, and all kids will receive a limited-edition SoxFest Kids Camp t-shirt. The cost to participate is $35. As of this writing, nine spots remain.
At 4:30 p.m., there will be another Black Carpet ceremony for those with VIP tickets, followed by a “State of the White Sox” panel at 5:00 p.m. The evening will continue with an “Eras History 101” discussion led by historian Shermann Dilla Thomas, and programming will conclude with a “Sox On Deck” panel with the club’s top prospects.
Here are the players with confirmed attendance at the celebration.
There is also one add-on opportunity for either Friday or Saturday night from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For $100 per person, fans can attend an after-party with live entertainment. The exclusive event promises complimentary food and drinks and the opportunity to further interact with White Sox players and personnel. This option can be selected at check out when purchasing general admission tickets.

I’m really hopeful that SoxFest Live will provide an intimate experience for all White Sox fans. Whether you’re a die-hard supporter or simply looking for some winter baseball in your life, a $56 general admission pass will get you in the door. Check out the website for ticket purchase and event information.
I know spending any amount of money on this franchise is questionable right now, so if you are not interested in going this year, be sure to check back here at South Side Sox. Kristina Airdo and I will recap all the details for you this weekend. Stay warm, everyone!
