Undefeated seasons are on the line!
The White Sox start off their spring season this afternoon by visiting That Other Team In Town, which already has two victories under its belt — against the Dodgers, no less.
Jared Shuster gets the honor of beginning the year on the mound, as the Sox take a look at stretching him into a starter even though he never went longer than three innings last year. Shuster will be followed by a cast of thousands, most in the “Huh? Who’s he?” category, but including Prelander Berroa, who in 19 innings with the Sox last year showed an excellent ability to miss bats (26 Ks) but also to miss the strike zone (13 walks).
The batting lineup includes some more familiar names, including Luis Robert Jr. (beginning of an effort to boost trade value?) and once-top prospect Colson Montgomery.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. Central. If you want to watch, you’ll need to be traitorous and/or wealthy enough to go to the Cubs network or mlb.tv. However, you can listen at ESPN 1000 and won’t even have to hear John Schriffen.
