Chicago is in split-squad mode with a pair against Milwaukee
Today, you get double your White Sox fun because one South Side showdown per day is never enough. Chicago (2-8) takes on Milwaukee (4-6) this afternoon in both contests.
Martín Pérez gets the ball in the first game that begins at 2:05 p.m. CT at Camelback Ranch. The southpaw looked terrific in his first outing last Thursday. He tossed two innings and gave up only one hit while striking out two. Pérez has a good shot of being the Opening Day starter and has been very vocal about wanting to be seen as a leader among this young pitching staff.
You won’t find any prospects in the starting lineup for this contest. Looks like Will Venable is running out the veterans.
Here’s how the skipper will send them out in Game 1:

Righthander Tobias Myers hits the bump for the Brew Crew. The 26-year-old made his big league debut last season and performed really well. The rookie slotted seamlessly into Milwaukee’s starting rotation and went 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA in 138 innings. He’s made one spring start so far where he threw one inning, giving up a hit and striking out one.
Here’s the lineup for the visiting Brewers:

The second contest commences just five minutes later at 2:10 p.m. CT across town at American Family Fields of Phoenix.
Unlike the earlier game, this one features several Sox youngsters vying for a spot on the 26-man roster. Players to watch include Chase Meidroth, Brooks Baldwin, Miguel Vargas, and Bryan Ramos.
Bryse Wilson gets the start for the South Siders. Chicago signed the free agent in the offseason to a one-year, $1.05 million contract. The 27-year-old is making his second appearance of the spring. Last time out, he hurled two innings of no-run ball, giving up only two hits and striking out one.
Chicago’s lineup for Game 2:

Former All-Star Freddy Peralta gets the pill for Milwaukee. The righthander served as the Brew Crew’s ace in 2024 after the departure of Corbin Burns. Peralta had a solid season, going 11-9 with a 3.68 ERA over 32 starts. He’s making his second spring outing this afternoon and hoping it goes better than the first one, where he gave up three runs in two innings of work.
Here’s how Brewers manager Pat Murphy lines them up:

Unfortunately, the Sox are not broadcasting either game, but if you’re really desperate for some Good Guys’ baseball, head on over to Brewers.com to catch the 2:10 p.m. stream.
Tonight at 6:00 p.m. CT, however, you can watch MLB Network’s 30 Clubs in 15 Days series, where Greg Amsinger and Mark DeRosa will walk through a comprehensive analysis of this year’s White Sox team. This hour-long show includes on-field demonstrations, player and staff interviews, and discussions with top prospects.
