The White Sox bats came to life in the bottom of the fifth inning when Nicky Lopez roped a double to start the inning. Lenyn Sosa hit a 2-run HR to put the Sox on the board. Rockies 3 — White Sox 2.
Luis Robert Jr. crushed a solo home run in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the game for the White Sox! The offense didn’t stop there! Andrew Vaughn got hit by a pitch and Paul DeJong hit a 2-run home run to give the White Sox a 5–3 lead.
Nicky Lopez made a great backhanded grab on a ground ball up the middle to turn a double play in the top of the 7
The White Sox offense exploded in the bottom of the 8th inning. Luis Robert Jr. walked, Eloy Jiménez came in to pinch hit for Gavin Sheets, and hit a single. He was replaced for a running substitution by Corey Julks. Andrew Vaughn hit another single which allowed Luis Robert Jr. to score, and Julks to advance to third. Paul DeJong hit a single to right field, which allowed Julks to score. Korey Lee became the next to join in on the home runs at Guaranteed Rate Field. He hit a 3 run shot to left center to extend the White Sox lead, 10–3. Lenyn Sosa walked and Tommy Pham singled. The pitcher, Riley Pint, threw a wild pitch which allowed Sosa to score. The White Sox scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th, giving them an 11–3 lead.
Justin Anderson sent the Rockies down in order in the top of the 9th to secure the victory.
