CHICAGO (WGN) — If the Chicago White Sox season goes anything like last year, at least fans will be able to look forward to nice weekend promos and a postgame concert from one of the most recognizable hip-hop artists of the last 20 years.
Multiplatinum recording artist and hip-hop icon Flo Rida is scheduled to perform for fans at Rate Field following the White Sox game versus the San Francisco Giants on Friday, June 27 at 6:40 p.m. CT.
Flo Rida’s resume speaks for itself with 12 chart-topping hits and more than 80 million records sold worldwide. With several albums and singles certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), he ranks among the best-selling artists of his generation.
A five-time Grammy Award nominee, Flo Rida has also earned numerous accolades throughout his career, including the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Hip-Hop Song for “Low” in 2009 and the International Dance Music Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Dance Track for “Wild Ones” in 2013, while also amassing more than 2 billion views on YouTube.
On-field Postgame Concert passes – ranging from $69 for a Lower Box game ticket and on-field pass to $89 for a Silver Box game ticket and on-field pass – are available to single-game ticket purchasers and White Sox season ticket holders now at whitesox.com/concert, while supplies last.
All fans with a ticket to the game will have the opportunity to stay for Flo Rida’s 60-minute performance. Weather permitting, the Postgame Concert is scheduled to begin 30 minutes following the final out of the game.
Team officials said space is limited, and ticket prices are subject to change. Season ticket holders will receive information from their representatives with a special offer to add field passes to tickets currently held for the Friday evening game.
Flo Rida joins a lineup of decorated music artists who have entertained fans at the ballpark since April 1991. Recent Postgame Concerts have welcomed chart-topping country artists Jordan Davis and Jake Owen and Grammy Award-winner KASKADE. Rate Field also has held concerts with entertainment icons, including The Rolling Stones in 2002, Bruce Springsteen in 2003, and Chance the Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring Day Festival in September 2016.
