Tim Anderson tacked on an insurance run in the seventh inning. №7 doubled on a line drive to left fielder Matt Wallner, scoring Elvis Andrus. Andrew Benintendi followed with an RBI single to bring TA home.
The Twins fought back in the eighth inning. Jorge Polanco scored off a wild pitch by Gregory Santos. Carlos Correa’s RBI single drove in Royce Lewis, Kyle Lewis’ ground out brought home Max Kepler and Matt Wallner reached on a fielding error to allow Correa to cross the plate. This shortened the White Sox lead to 7–5. In the ninth, Kyle Farmer drew a walk with bases loaded to make the score 7–6.
Aaron Bummer, Bryan Shaw, Gregory Santos, Lane Ramsey and Tanner Banks all pitched innings of relief.
